Professional Development

"Aviation in itself is not inherently dangerous. But to an even greater degree than the sea, it is terribly unforgiving of any carelessness, incapacity or neglect."Captain A. G. Lamplugh, British Aviation Insurance Group, London c. 1930s

Although this quote was first uttered almost a century ago, when aviation was in its infancy and space flight was the province of dreamers, it is just as relevant today as it was then. As a learned Society, the RAeS encourages its members of all grades to keep learning; in other words to be professionals at what they do so that “carelessness, incapacity, and neglect” are not our companions. The Society offer its members the opportunities for continuing professional development (CPD), and recognition of professional achievement in the aerospace industry by awarding progress through the different grades of membership.

Continuing professional development is the cornerstone of your life as a professional in aviation and space. Take advantage of the opportunities available to you a member of the RAeS.
